Kate Rhodes James & Francesco Vedovati
Kate Rhodes James CDG / CSA is one of the UK’s best-known Casting Directors who has worked across film and television for over twenty years. Kate has cast innumerable large-scale projects, such as House of the Dragon, Interview with the Vampire, Line of Duty, Bodyguard, and Sherlock.Kate has extensively worked as Casting Director alongside Ridley Scott, with recent high-profile projects including Gladiator 2, Napoleon, House of Gucci, The Last Duel, Alien Earth, The Terror. She’s just finishing a piece about the Kennedys for Netflix. In 2026, she was honored with the Capelier-Shaw Artios Award for Excellence in Casting.
Francesco Vedovati has been working as a casting director in Italian cinema for several decades. In 2023, he received an Emmy Award for his work on the drama series The White Lotus (Season 2). He also cast the Oscar-nominated film Io, Capitano (2024), and was previously nominated for a BAFTA for The Two Popes, as well as multiple Artios Awards from the Casting Society of America for projects including Fargo and Ripley. In 2024, he was honored with the Capelier-Shaw Artios Award for Excellence in Casting, followed in 2025 by the Artios Award for Outstanding Achievement in Casting – Studio or Independent Feature – Drama for Conclave.
In a one days on-site workshop in small group of selected participants, Kate and Francesco will share their experience and showcase how Casting works in general and in different regions.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This one-day, in-person workshop is designed for professional actors and acting students from Croatia or those currently based in Croatia at any stage of their career who are interested in breaking into international co-productions.
- A limited number of participants will be selected by the casting directors from all applicants.
- The workshop will be conducted in English
Participation is free of charge for selected participants, yet be aware that transport/accommodation costs are at your own expense, in case you are not based in Split.

HOW TO APPLY
To participate, you must:
- be a professional actor or studying acting
- be from Croatia and/or currently based in Croatia
- be fluent in English
- be available in Split on June 16th, 2026
- submit a One-Minute Monologue (in English) via this page
